Keylor Navas, the legend who could play his first CONMEBOL Copa América™

• The 37-year-old Costa Rican goalkeeper has the chance to play in the national team tournament that he has missed in the past.

Keylor Navas has played over 100 matches for the Costa Rican national team. He made his debut in 2008 and holds the record for the most appearances, with 114 games played for Los Ticos. He has participated in three FIFA World Cups: 2014, where he reached the quarterfinals, as well as in the 2018 and 2022 editions.

Navas played a crucial role for Real Madrid from 2014-19, making 162 appearances and winning 12 titles, including 3 Champions League trophies.

While playing for Real Madrid, the CONMEBOL Copa América United States 2016™ took place, which saw Costa Rica as one of the participating teams. Keylor Navas, who was a vital player in the team coached by Óscar Ramírez, unfortunately missed the tournament due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Navas had participated in the Gold Cup tournament before and was awarded the title of best goalkeeper in 2009. He also had the opportunity to represent Costa Rica in the Concacaf Nations League, which helped the team qualify for their sixth CONMEBOL Copa América™ in history.
